Courtney King-Dye and Grandioso Win the PSG and Inter 1 at CDI Lamplight and Secure Their Spot in the Festival of Champions at Gladstone.
This past weekend's wet, windy and cold Chicago weather did not deter the performances of Courtney King-Dye and Grandioso in their second-ever international competition. The pair topped the field of 11 horses and riders both days with a 69.386 in the PSG and 70.00 for the Inter 1. They needed one more score from a CDI to complete the minimum qualifications for the Festival of Champions, so Courtney decided to make the trip to the western suburbs of Chicago from her summer home base in Millbrook, New York, where both Grandioso and HGF's Cuatrero are in training.
Their new combined average falls comfortably within the first twelve horse and rider pairs for the small tour and they are now focused on preparations for the Festival of Champions.
At HGF, we are very excited to be a part of the Festival for the first time and we look forward to whatever the future holds for Courtney and Grandioso as they continue to improve and grow in their partnership.
